It is by no stretch of the imagination that Biblioteca Vasconelos was nicknamed by the press as “Megabiblioteca.” Looking like it was taken from a scene of Christopher Nolan’s Inception, it is almost hardly believable that this is an actual library. Located in the Northern region of Mexico City, the Alberto Kalach designed library is integrated into a botanical garden, with most areas of the interior benefiting from natural lighting – offering a more ecological alternative to an otherwise overly populated urban hub.
Inspired by revolutionary philosopher and political activist José Vasconcelos, the design of the interior resembles the “reorganizing of the mind.
