Ludovica+Roberto Palomba gained inspiration for their most recent bathroom design, Laufen’s Lb3 collection , through studying the art of living in international metropolises. As with many of their pieces, their work often includes strong cultural and lifestyle influences that they observe from the “art of life.” Ludovica and Roberto discovered that most people naturally possess a penchant for the styles of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries, yet at the same time experience an intrinsic need to personalize these designs and make them their own. They have most recetnly based the Lb3 collections on three styles: “modern,” “classic” and “design.”

The modern collection of sinks features linear and clean contours, and is an unconventional tribute to the modern and Bauhaus styles. The dual contours of the sinks in the classic collection are the epitome of timeless elegance, and can be used in any style of home, not just traditional. Whereas, cubic and soft curves are characteristic of the “design” line of sinks. The collection also features a wide array of wall-mount and floorstanding toilets. The Lb3 toilets are also WaterSense certified. They meet requirements of the EPA WaterSense Tank-Type High-Efficiency Toilet Specification with an average of below 1.28 gallons-per-flush. An impressive conservation rate as most standard toilets are at 1.6 GPF. Yet, another highlight of the Lb3 bathroom is the luxurious wood-encased freestanding bathtub. Lastly, the furniture is simple and elegant. For those that prefer a freestanding vanity instead of a wall-mount vanity, the choice of matching chrome legs is available. A unique rolling storage cart with pull-out drawers can be used to store toiletries or as a vanity seat. Mix and match the vanities with the wide array of sinks and countertops from the Lb3 line for complete design freedom.

The Laufen mimo collection was also designed by Ludovica+Roberto Palomba, which recently won the 2009 Red Dot award. Here are just a few pictures of Ludovica+Roberto Palomba’s work. Click on any image for a larger version:
