Stone Forest has been commissioned by Mesa Design to create the massive outdoor water feature for this luxury urban center in the Dallas Arts District. Anchoring the eastern edge of downtown Dallas, the 24-story One Arts Plaza is a defining presence as the tallest building in the expanding Dallas Arts District. One of the most intriguing architectural features of One Arts Plaza, which houses luxury residences, restaurants and commercial space, is its stunning outdoor water feature.
Landscape architecture firm Mesa Design, which was handling the project, commissioned Stone Forest to create the glowing fountain featuring horizontal basalt columns. The inspiration behind this compelling design was that of fallen trees in a forest; the massive columns are placed in different directions and consist of various diameters and lengths. Stone Forest sourced and sculpted 28 basalt columns that were integrated into the water feature and benches used for the project. Having designed and created custom fountains and sculptures for over 20 years, Stone Forest has contributed an invaluable support to the commercial and landscape community through their unparallel execution of custom designs. One Arts Plaza is just one example from their impressive project portfolio. Click any picture for a larger version:
