Were you thinking that we had left New York City off the Design Center map? Fear not as we wrap up our nationwide tour of design showrooms. While NYC has a number of “Design Centers,” the Architects and Designers Building (or the A&D Building for short) located at 150 E. 58th Street is easily one of our favorites. Filled with ten floors of inspiration, their midtown location makes this building an easy stop, while their 35 showrooms make it a must-see destination.

Once inside, take a peek at the carpets at Brintons USA. Brintons is a leading source for wool rich carpet, providing the ultimate in custom woven Axminster commercial carpet and tiles as well as Wilton, handcrafted rugs and tufted flooring.

If you are looking for contemporary European bathroom design, you will do no better than a stop at Hastings Tile & Bath. Here you’ll see virtually EVERY version of the iconic Vola line of fixtures, plus their exclusive line of Fornasetti tiles – and it’s hard not to smile when you come face to face with Fornasetti.

Showrooms are where you really have the opportunity to learn about brands and what they have to offer. Our case in point is the funky refrigerator brand Smeg. Over the years we have seen their colorful 50’s retro style fridges, but we were not aware that they also have ovens, ranges, hoods and dishwashers! Visiting their showroom helped us learn a ton about this clever company.

All in all, the A&D Building was another great stop on our tour. What’s your favorite showroom? Let us know @Styleture
