The Zeta fireplace by EcoSmart has been one of the hottest designs in the past year or so (no pun intended), winning awards for its design which is crafted from timber, leather, and stainless steel. This design was created by architect John Dimopoulos and was the winner of the 2009 Design Award at the Australian International Design Awards in Sydney, Australia . The fire runs on denatured ethanol, which is an easily renewable energy source. The Zeta is actually larger than the first two images appear as you can see in the third image. It is just over 32 inches tall, about 3 1/2 feet wide and nearly 3 feet deep. The Zeta costs around $9,700:

Another amazing fireplace design by EcoSmart that we love is called the “Q”. This is another highly acclaimed design and the winner of New York House Magazine’s Innovative Green Design Awards for “Coolest Green Product” in 2009. This fireplace is about the same size as the Zeta at nearly 4 feet wide and 32 inches tall. It comes in black or white and will cost you around $1,500.

If you are like me and like to have more portable heat that you can carry around with you in a fireplace, then the Conmoto traveling fireplace is a nice design that is perfect for you. This design is great because you can carry it into the living room and place it on the carpet bring it into the dinning room and put it right on your dining table, or bring it out to the garage or balcony if you are entertaining outside on a cool spring night. While this is a portable fireplace it does weigh 55 pounds, so just take note that it is still fairly heavy. It measures 20 inches tall by 28 inches wide and is only 8 inches deep. The Conmoto Travelmate will cost you $3,200 from a high end showroom or retailer such as Unica Home.

The Max Blank Berlin Fireplace is a high-tech design that allows the fireplace to rotate in a 360 degree circle. This designer fireplace does require a stove pipe which calls for an actual installation. This designer piece is a few years older than the others previously discussed as it was released in 2005. It can be viewed as a piece of design furniture, a functional heater, or even as a room divider. This design is actually able to swivel 360 degrees, giving you the freedom to move the direction of the heat and stove. The price of this fireplace is $9,000.

The Vauni Cupola is a wall mounted fireplace is truly unique in it’s design, as the only hemisphere-shaped bio-fuel fireplace on the market today. Out of all the designs we’ve seen, this one seems like the most practical from a design perspective, as wall designs as unique as a FIREPLACE is definitely one to be noted. The Cupola is made of lightweight aluminum and comes in black or white, and costs $2,735.
